Estate Pinot Noir

Monterey

This wine comes from a small benchland vineyard on the Chalone estate approximately 1,800 feet in elevation, near the Pinnacles National Park within Monterey County. Vines grow on sparse, reddish soil underlain by limestone that ribbons through the property. Thus each bottle is filled with the essence of the soil – the French gout de terrior – which gives the wine a fullness of bouquet and flavor unique to this vineyard. Aged entirely in French oak barrels, this Pinot Noir rewards cellaring and will age gracefully for years to come.
